Schott Ceran® – The first and only glass-ceramic

All Fisher & Paykel electric and induction cooktops use the Schott Ceran® eco glass for the following reasons:

  • Schott believes the product should be environmentally friendly throughout the entire life cycle, from raw materials, to production process, usage (life span) and disposal
  • The glass is made from natural, almost unlimited raw materials without any heavy metal additive like arsenic or antimony. Materials used include quartz sand, alumina and lithium
  • Manufactured in an environmentally friendly process that reduces emissions like nitrogen oxides by 30%
  • The glass is highly robust and greater heat transmission compared to conventional ceramic cooktops.
  • The glass is resistant to temperature up to 700°C
  • The glass has an unlimited wear life span
